i still havent finish off our experience of touring Italy last winter..so here i am, telling u guys our trip to venice n florence..it isn't supposed to be me, writing the entry of venice n florence...it should be fendi or usop or bali..but..ehhhh..they dont hv time for that...

I was really excited about going to venice..heayyy..come on..who dosent know venice..the most romantic place in the world..yer kew..??we'll see...hahah...We took a bus n headed for venice..it came to surprise that no car would fit the road of venice...so walking is the only option..the rain was pouring down heavy that we got our shoes really wet..soaked with cold water..Since the roads in venice are really small and they are kinda of messy and tricky, we got lost..hahah..my bladder was bursting and we pondered around looking for toilet and finally found 1 but heyy it was 1euro fees..OMG..masuk tandas bayaq 5 ringgit..giler aper..it gotta be 5 stars toilet..

The worst thing was that, the tourist attraction sites were flooded with water. So they provided like a runway platform for tourists to walk through...the St Marco and the surrounding piazzas were flooded..bad..really bad..then we went to climb a tower to get a view of the whole venice..it was awesome up there, considering 8euro fees..haha..and so sudden2..while we were waiting for the lift to go down..and we were standing right below a massive bell..and it was 12 o'clock and the bell started to swing like its gonna collapse..i was really freaked out when i realized like something is coming down from above us..i stepped back without pulling anyone with me..giler selfish..and suddenly a loud BANNNNGGG sounds produced by the bell..wow...my heart felt like bursting out its peghicaghdium(pronounce cam dr demonstrator yer)..and the bell kept on swinging and banging for a good 1 minute or so..sampai nk pekak dgr...but the view from the tower is brilliant..u got to see every inch of venice...best2..berbaloi bayar 8 euro..but the wind up there was really strong and we were freezing cold..


Then we walked around venice, buying some souvenirs and finally got hungry...so we bought 2 huge pizzas..and we walked back to the hostel with the pizzas under the rain..so jadik la pizza bersama soup...everyone was staring at fendi dlm bas because he was carrying that big-wet-pizza with him..and we ate the pizza in our small car..

i liked venice a lot...it is romantic..u can feel the romantic vibe in the atmosphere..i dont know what so romantic about it but u just feel it..venice is a classic-old-small-hideous-crowded-yet-romantic city..it was such a let down that we didnt get to ride the gondola cause it was raining n flooding...waaaaa...the weather was just another let down..but still i think we enjoyed the most of it...

Then we headed for florence...

We woke up early to go to PISA..yeayyy..pisa...pisa was amazing..luckyly..it was really sunny that day..so everything was perfect for us..we spent a few hours taking pictures and buying sourvenirs in Pisa..then we headed to Carrefour to get some food..



then we headed back to florence town and got lost in the city while searching for halal food..we managed to get a very valued for money food..nasi+kari daging+isi kebab ayam+salad..perghhh..konyang...and later that night we had a night walk around florence..i loved it..florence is classically beautiful..the night view was so serene and lovely..tatau nak describe..tp beshh..then we headed back to hostel and drink coffee while watching football(me, of kos want part of the football watching thing)

Then the next day, we planned to wake up early to catch sunrise..but sadly bgn lambat..haha.but still we went to Piazale Michaelangelo and still got to watch 'sunrise' there..the view was really nice and we got to see florence from up above..then we went to Ufizzi galery, staring aimlessly at the various paintings.. tgk lukisan bout christianity smpi nk termuntah...and from that moment i knew why in the world leonardo da vinci is so popular..his paintings are special indeed..u can spot the difference right away...His was so bold..i mean every subject in the paintings was somehow really stands out..he really knows how to make each object stands out without shadowing the others..impressive..he really put an effort in creating the edge of the objects to make it stands out..sometimes u just see the objects in the drawing coming out like 3D..siryesss..hahah..



The highlight of the day was definitely San Gimignano, an ancient town yet still perfectly fine..u can feel the atmosphere of medieval right away the moment u step into it..perghhh...tinggal lagi nak pkai baju besi n pedang n helmet tuh jer..kalo x mmg aku dah jadik gladiator aa..i was really obsessed with medieval kind of thing..and for me, being there was like the kemuncak kepada minat kepada medieval...wahaha... it is a really well preserved middle age town..the view from up there was spectacle..susah nk digambarkan..u might wanna have ur honeymoon there..it was a really special town..i liked it a lot lot lot lot...with lots of towers it is really captivating..

then we headed straight to rome...and the journey is to be continued...

SEKUMPULAN penduduk Palestin mengelilingi unggun api di bawah khemah yang dibina di sebelah runtuhan kediaman akibat serangan Israel selama 22 hari di Jabalia, utara Genting Gaza. - AFP

Dalam sejarah konflik Palestin sejak lebih 60 tahun lalu negara-negara Arab sering melepas peluang untuk merealisasikan pembentukan sebuah negara untuk rakyat Palestin. Kesilapan demi kesilapan dilakukan bermula dengan perang Arab-Israel pertama tahun 1948.

Pengajaran daripada beberapa peperangan Arab-Israel itu ialah jumlah ramainya penduduk sahaja tidak memadai. Apa yang penting ialah strategi, persediaan, latihan, persenjataan, moral dan jentera propaganda. Sayangnya hingga ke hari ini jentera propaganda merupakan kelemahan negara-negara Arab yang paling ketara.

Perkara ini terjadi di kala negara-negara Arab menguasai pengeluaran minyak mentah dunia. Malahan pelaburan Arab melimpah ruah ke negara-negara Barat khususnya sebelum tragedi 11 September 2001. Beberapa buah negara Eropah boleh dikatakan hidup kerana duit Arab.

Meskipun begitu mereka tidak berjaya mempengaruhi dan mendapatkan simpati negara-negara Barat dalam konflik Palestin. Meskipun lebih 1,300 orang menjadi korban dalam serangan Israel ke atas Genting Gaza baru-baru ini.

Namun keadaan amat berbeza dengan Israel. Negara-negara Eropah dan AS amat menyayangi Israel. Mereka sanggup menyokong Israel meskipun rejim Zionis itu sering kali berlaku zalim. Puncanya ialah jentera propagandanya yang efisien.

Kempen-kempen propaganda Israel berkembang ekoran daripada kewujudan fahaman Zionis lebih seratus tahun lalu. Perisytiharan Balfour tahun 1917 dan penubuhan negara Israel merupakan kemuncak kepada kejayaan Zionis.

Melalui propaganda yang berterusan, Zionis berjaya menguasai pengembang-pengembang agama Kristian berhaluan kanan, ahli-ahli politik, media massa dan paling penting industri perfileman Hollywood.

Sejak kewujudan Israel hampir-hampir seratus buah filem Hollywood yang bertemakan bangsa Yahudi khususnya mengenai kekejaman Nazi di samping mempertahan dan menghalalkan pembentukan negara Israel tahun 1948.

Hari ini kritikan terhadap Israel dicap sebagai 'anti-Semites.' Di beberapa negara Eropah perbuatan mempersoalkan kewujudan holocaust boleh dikenakan tindakan undang-undang.

Pengaruh Israel dalam dasar luar AS jelas dinyatakan oleh John Mearsheimer dan Stephen Walt dalam buku bertajuk The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy (Lobi Israel dan Dasar Luar Amerika) terbitan tahun 2006.

Nadi propaganda zionis berpusat di Simon Wiesenthal Center atau SWC di Los Angeles. SWC menjalankan pelbagai aktiviti bertujuan mempertahankan keselamatan bangsa Yahudi di seluruh dunia, khususnya Israel dan menentang anti-semitisme.

SWC juga terdapat di New York, Miami, Paris, Toronto, Buenos Aires and Jerusalem. SWC mendapat taraf sebagai badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) di pertubuhan-pertubuhan antarabangsa termasuk PBB, UNESCO dan Majlis Eropah (Council of Europe).

Muzium Toleransi (Museum of Tolerance) juga memainkan peranan yang sama penting dengan SWC. Objektif utama ialah mendidik dan menyebarkan tragedi yang menimpa bangsa Yahudi di Eropah dalam Perang Dunia Kedua.

Muzium ini menyediakan bacam-macam program untuk pelbagai lapisan masyarakat khususnya para pelajar dari sekolah rendah hingga ke universiti, ahli-ahli akademik, guru-guru, penguatkuasa undang-undang dan pekerja-pekerja sosial.

Sebaliknya sejak 60 tahun lalu hampir-hampir tidak ada filem-filem tentang holocaust rakyat Palestin. Sepanjang penulis ketahui tidak ada satu pun pusat dan muzium tentang tragedi rakyat Palestin seperti mana Simon Wiesenthal Center dan Museum of Tolerance.

Kenapa agaknya perkara seumpama ini tidak terlintas di fikiran pemimpin-pemimpin Arab dan Pertubuhan Persidangan Islam (OIC). Pusat ini sepatutnya dibina di AS, Eropah, Timur Tengah dan beberapa buah negara di Afrika dan Asia.

Mesir mempunyai industri perfileman yang bermutu tinggi dan dirasa mampu mengeluarkan filem-filem yang baik dengan pelaburan dari negara-negara Arab/OIC. Kesan filem-filem ini dikira dapat mempengaruhi pemikiran dunia tentang masalah yang dihadapi oleh rakyat Palestin.

Bagaimana pula dengan penubuhan sebuah badan agensi berita dan stesen televisyen OIC. Isu propaganda ini patut dipandang serius oleh OIC. Adalah lebih baik OIC membincangkan isu-isu yang mudah dipraktikkan daripada isu-isu besar dan penuh dengan retorik sedangkan sukar sekali dilaksanakan.

Sepatutnya jentera propaganda Liga Arab dan OIC memanipulasikan pembunuhan kejam terhadap penduduk Gaza baru-baru ini. Bayangkan apa yang akan terjadi sekiranya lebih 1,300 orang yang terkorban itu merupakan rakyat Israel.

Sebaliknya pemimpin-pemimpin Arab terus menerus bercakaran sesama sendiri. Sidang Kemuncak Ekonomi Arab di Kuwait menambah tebal lagi permusuhan sesama mereka sedangkan Gaza telah hampir musnah, termasuk lebih 20 buah masjid ranap dibedil Israel.

Di zaman Perang Dingin, Republik Rakyat China (PRC), India, Soviet Union, sebahagian besar negara-negara blok komunis dan Pergerakan Negara-Negara Berkecuali (NAM) tidak mempunyai hubungan diplomatik dengan Israel. Kini hampir-hampir semua menjadi rakan Israel. Nampaknya nasib rakyat Palestin semakin gelap.

Medical Agreement announced between Irish Universities and Malaysia

On Thursday, January 22nd 2009, the Presidents of UCC and NUI Galway signed a Co-operation Agreement in Penang, Malaysia with Allianze College of Medical Sciences (ACMS).
The agreement provides the legal framework for a new twinning medical programme between UCC/NUI Galway and ACMS which will see a cohort of some 120 Malaysian and other south-east Asian students studying medicine in Galway and Cork for the first two-and-a-half years and completing their degree in Malaysia in the second two-and-a-half years. Hospital based clinical education will take place in Malaysia. On successful completion, students would be awarded the NUI degree of MB, BAO, BCh.

The first students will be admitted in September 2009.The agreement will initially run for 15 consecutive years of student intake but with the potential to be extended beyond that. During the period of the agreement, other health profession programmes may be developed by mutual agreement. The programme is being developed within the context of ongoing bilateral links between Ireland and Malaysia, particularly the 2001 Memorandum of Understanding between the Irish and Malaysian Ministries of Education, and the Malaysian Government's invitation in 2004 to the Irish universities with renowned medical schools to develop a campus in Malaysia. In 2003, UCC conferred an honorary degree on the King of Malaysia who is also the King of the State of Perlis where the clinical school will be based. In 2005, the Crown Prince of Perlis paid a visit to UCC. It was this visit that led to the start of active discussions.

During the signing ceremony, the President of UCC, Dr Michael Murphy said “All the Irish medical schools owe a debt of gratitude to the government of Malaysia over the past 20 years because Malaysia more than any other single country enabled the medical schools to invest in medical education to the benefit of Irish and international students and to the enhancement of the reputation of Irish medical education. In the course of those years, we have all come to respect and value the economic energy, the commitment to multiculturalism, the honouring of all religious traditions of the Malaysian people”.

The President of NUI Galway, Dr Jim Browne, spoke of “documented records of Malaysian students studying in Ireland in such subjects as Medicine, Commerce and Engineering, since just after the Second World War, and increasing rapidly since Malaysian independence in 1958. In 1988, Trinity College Dublin, UCD, UCC and NUI Galway established the Irish Universities Medical Consortium with the purpose of developing Irish medical education links with Malaysia and placing them on a firmer footing. Ten years later the Penang Medical College was established by UCD and RCSI. These Irish Malaysia links in the field of medical education have to date led to somewhere in the region of 3,000 to 4,000 Malaysian doctors with Irish medical qualifications.”

Up to now, NUI Galway and UCC have only accepted Malaysian students into the Irish five-year medical programme. This initiative shifts the clinical training of the students to their home country where they will develop their clinical skills and knowledge in the context of their own culture, traditions and health needs. However, they will still obtain an Irish medical qualification that will be approved and accredited by the professional accrediting authorities of Ireland and Malaysia. Steps to obtain this accreditation have commenced. A full application has been made to the Malaysian Quality Agency.

Both presidents acknowledged the help received from UCD and RCSI who have already successfully developed the Penang Medical College along similar lines. Dr Murphy stressed that “it is important to both governments that Irish education in Malaysia is seen as operating consistently and to the highest standards and that any elements of competition are managed within the overall national interest. In Ireland in recent years, universities are developing strategic partnerships in many areas of graduate education and research. In NUI Galway and UCC we welcome this opportunity to work together as a single team to deliver a programme of which both universities can be proud.”

A long friday~~~

wahhhh...finally i can breathh again...ho ho ho...it has been a long day today..in fact the longest for me for this term...class started at 9.00..so woke up at 8.00...lambat gakk..subuh nak abiss dah..haiyyaaa...hahaa..then went to pathology class back to back for 2 hours and i slept for 20 minutes during the lucture..wahaha..bad2...then went back home and took shower..its been 2 days or 3 since i last take shower..haha..busuk tol perangai..bukan aper..i usually take shower after playing squash..it has been 3 days since i last play squashhh...wawawaw..rindu giler nak men squashh but just cudnt find the time to do so....wawawaw...then went to AIB to ask for bank international code..then headed to general services office to book for tabless for next week's event...(owh early promotion..we'll be having fundraisng event for GAZA next week starting on monday till friday)...then i went to main restaurant to eat..seperti biasa makan chips n salad..haiyyooo..then x abiss makan i got a call from genereral services office telling me to get conformation from STudent Union first before they can give me the tables...the thing is i already went to SU before and they sent me to other society office and society office me then turn me away to general services office(GSO)...then the cycle begins.. GSO sent me to SU back..arghhh..tensi...i dont even get to finish my luch because i need to hurry for my heartsaver AED course..

Basicallt this is what we had to do all day..2 breaths and 30 compressions

at 1pm went to Hearsaver AED and it was a long course..from 1 to 6 pm..lama giler dok wat cpr jer..lotih dah...anyway it was fun and not kind of boring lecture like that..i wanted to take a break for friday prayer but xleh..cam everything is practical..and u cant miss even every session..ader sorang mamat tuh went to toilet pun they were deciding to stop the session for a while..buleyh??..so x leh la went to friday prayer and did jama' instead..and i paired with taqiah...wahaha.. what a funny day we had..hahaha..taq kener wat abdominal thrust ngan kuwaitis guy..wahahha..sian taq..naseb dier x suh wat chest thrust..wakakak...but i think we made up a good team..kan taq kan??hahah...tp pesanan kpd gadis2 utk session seterusnyer..u better pair urself up with girls juger if u dont want to be forced into an awkward situation like taq did..wahahha...it really tiresome to do cpr..it takes quite some energy out of u..the principle fo chest compression is fast and hard...but cannot be too fast.u need a good tempo for that..and had to count 1 to 30..me and taq, we really messed up with the numbers...kire sesuka ati jer..taq kire camnih weyhh...27, 29 28, 29, 30...haiyyooo taq nih..number pun x betol dah...but our instructor Eileen had been really helpful..

then at the end of the session we had a skill test and we passed..wahaha..even taq sedeket menggelabahsss kan..wahahah...naseb la kitaorg x gi kt sorang lecturer bernama patricia nih..kononye ngan dier senang cos she seems to take it easy kot..but in turned out 3 girls from her session failed and had to redo..so balik lambat la dorang..wahahha...then finally we were given a card of heartsaver..so pasnih saper nak suh aku wat cpr kt dier siler2..wahahah...

inilah hasilnyer setelah 5 jam dok breath n compress..hahah

then at 6 i had to rush back to cook utk makhluk2 paling seksi di umah 63...hoooo..lotih x ilang lagi...to make thing easy, masak la chicken blackpaper...it really easy..n masak sayur n sup halia bagi menyehatkan tubuh...it is faimee's style..sup with halia..hahaha...then makan and nowww i can breath again..baca balek it wasnt really a long day pun actually..the heart saver thing make my day seems long...wahaha...ok then..byee

Perang di Gaza: Dunia Arab bertelagah

KAHERAH 14 Jan. - Negara-negara Arab bertelagah sesama sendiri berhubung rancangan mengadakan sidang kemuncak untuk membincangkan krisis di wilayah Palestin sekarang.

Negara rantau Asia Barat yang besar seperti Mesir dan Arab Saudi yang menentang penguasaan Hamas ke atas Gaza, semalam menggesa ke arah gencatan senjata segera serta menyatakan kesediaan menghadiri sidang kemuncak Liga Arab di Kuwait pada minggu depan.

Cadangan Kuwait itu akan menggabungkan perbincangan mengenai serangan Israel ke atas Gaza, yang masuk hari ke-19 dengan sidang kemuncak ekonomi yang telah dirancangkan lebih awal.

Qatar pula meminta kesemua 22 anggota Liga Arab di Kaherah agar mengadakan sidang tergempar mengenai Gaza dan ia mendapat sokongan daripada Syria yang merupakan penyokong kuat Hamas.

Setiausaha Agung Liga Arab, Amr Mussa memberitahu pemberita semalam bahawa pertubuhan itu menerima 12 persetujuan mengenai perlunya sidang kemuncak mengenai Gaza diadakan.

Namun, ramai diplomat yang mendakwa Mesir dan Arab Saudi merasakan sidang sedemikian tidak membuahkan hasil, malah memberi gambaran bahawa pemimpin Arab sebagai tidak cekap.

Pegawai Mesir turut menuduh Qatar dan Syria sebagai cuba mencari jalan untuk memalukan Kaherah.

Duta Arab Saudi ke Liga Arab sebelum ini pernah menyatakan rasa tidak senang dengan cadangan Qatar dan menyifatkannya sebagai 'bukan kepentingan terhadap perpaduan Arab' untuk mengadakan dua sidang kemuncak pada satu masa.

Mesir pada awalnya bersetuju untuk satu rundingan tidak rasmi antara pemimpin Arab dalam sidang kemuncak ekonomi di Kuwait pada 18 Januari ini dan Arab Saudi juga membuat keputusan serupa semalam.

Blood test~~

warghhhhhh.....tension2...i've been doing 3 blood test oready this sem alone and they still want me to do another 1 today..haiyyahhh...i'm totally ok with that if its free..but the fact that i have to pay 20euro for each jab is really ...really..annoying+tensi...plus i also have to do the mantoux test to check wether i've been contaminated with TB or not and it is was quite painful..it really is painful when the needle is inserted and the fluid is pushed in..and u can see a sudden bubble appears on ur hand..but it was just for a while..but still saket..dats not it..i have to pay 20euro more for the test...haiyyahhh..and i have to go again at 9 on thursday for further checkup..i dont know how much it will cost me for the next visit...wawawawa...and kener kuar awal pagi...wawaw..maleyhh nyer nak kuar pagi2...and 1 more thing that really make me pissed of is that i was charged extra 20euro today..so for total i have to pay 60euro...woooo...she said i didn't pay for my previous blood test...i was like shitttooo...i can remember clearly that i paid her 20euro but she didn't even ask for my name and tick anything for record...i was curious at first and she didn't gave me any receipt..so i didnt bother to ask her to tick my name or wutsoever...but today i was really not in the mood of arguing, besides i dont even have the receipt to prove myself..so i just let it go..but haihhhh..burn lagi 20euro for nothing...tp for the sake of future health assurance, its worth even spending thousands..hurmmm...

Gaza terus dibedil

TERUS MEMBEDIL... Kereta kebal Israel terus melakukan serangan darat ke arah Genting Gaza tanpa menghirau resolusi PBB mengenai gencatan senjata.

Zionis terus membedil Gaza dengan ‘azam’ untuk memastikan tiada lagi serangan roket oleh Hamas ke atas wilayah Israel. Angka korban rakyat Palestin meningkat kepada lebih 800 orang.

Tentera Washington buka tender sewa kapal dagang untuk hantar 3,000 tan peluru ke Israel.

Setiausaha Agung PBB, Ban Ki-moon kecewa dengan kedegilan Israel dalam melaksanakan gencatan senjata.

Perdana Menteri Israel Ehud Olmert maklumkan negara Yahudi itu ‘tidak pernah setuju dengan campur tangan luar’ merujuk kepada Majlis Keselamatan.

GAZA 10 Jan. - Pesawat udara, kereta kebal dan kapal tentera Israel membedil Genting Gaza buat hari ke-15 hari ini sementara askarnya terlibat dalam pertempuran sengit dengan pejuang Hamas di wilayah Palestin ini.

Rejim Yahudi itu terus tidak mempedulikan usaha antarabangsa untuk menghentikan keganasan yang telah membunuh lebih 800 rakyat Palestin.

Walaupun resolusi Majlis Keselamatan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) menuntut gencatan senjata dilaksanakan segera dan usaha perantaraan giat dijalankan oleh Mesir dan Eropah, Israel nampaknya bertekad untuk meneruskan serangan.

Hamas bagaimanapun masih berupaya melancarkan roket ke selatan Israel hari ini dan dalam tempoh 24 jam lalu telah melancarkan kira-kira 35 roket ke wilayah Israel.

"Israel berazam untuk meneruskan kempen ini sehingga membawa kepada kesudahan yang positif, supaya tidak ada lagi serangan terhadap Israel dari Gaza," kata anggota Kabinet keselamatan Israel, Rafi Eitan.

Pegawai perubatan di Gaza berkata, sejak Israel melancarkan serangan pada 27 Disember lalu, sekurang-kurangnya 802 rakyat Palestin terkorban, termasuk 235 kanak-kanak dan 93 wanita manakala 3,350 lagi cedera.

Sejumlah 13 rakyat Israel terbunuh terdiri daripada 10 askar dan tiga penduduk awam yang terkena tembakan roket Hamas.

Dalam serangan malam tadi, tentera Israel mendakwa telah membedil 40 lagi kedudukan Hamas di Gaza dan membunuh 15 pejuang Hamas dalam pertempuran di darat.

Pertempuran paling sengit berlaku di jalan tepi pantai di sebelah utara Bandar Gaza, kata pegawai keselamatan Palestin.

Askar Israel mara ke dalam lingkungan 1.5 kilometer dari bandar tersebut sebelum berundur sedikit.

Sungguhpun tentera Israel telah menguasai jalan itu, pejuang Hamas terus beroperasi dari kedudukan tersembunyi di kawasan berkenaan.

Jalan itu biasa digunakan untuk melancarkan roket ke Israel atau menyerang bot tentera laut Israel di perairan Mediterranean.

AS hantar 3,000 tan peluru ke Israel

LONDON 10 Jan. - Tentera Amerika Syarikat (AS) mengeluarkan tender untuk menyewa sebuah kapal dagang bagi mengangkut peluru ke Israel pada bulan ini.

Pentagon bagaimanapun menafikan penghantaran peluru tersebut ada kaitan dengan konflik di Genting Gaza.

Seorang jurucakap Pentagon berkata, peluru berkenaan adalah untuk simpanan stok peluru AS di Israel.

Tentera AS menyimpan stok senjata dan peluru di sesetengah negara bagi menghadapi kemungkinan bekalan diperlukan dalam tempoh singkat.

Menurut dokumen tender yang diperoleh oleh Reuters, tentera laut AS menyatakan kapal dagang yang hendak disewa itu dikehendaki membawa 325 kontena 20 kaki (6 meter) mengandungi apa yang disenaraikan sebagai "peluru."

"Penghantaran 3,000 tan peluru sekali gus adalah jumlah yang banyak.

"Permintaan seperti ini jarang dikeluarkan dan kami tidak melihat banyak sebut harga untuk tender sedemikian di pasaran sejak bertahun-tahun lalu," kata seorang broker.

Kapal tersebut dijadual melakukan dua pelayaran berasingan dari pelabuhan Astakos di Greece ke pelabuhan Ashdod di Israel dari pertengahan hingga hujung bulan ini.

Jurucakap Pentagon, Leftenan Kolonel Patrick Ryder berkata, beliau enggan mengulas mengenai laluan kapal atas sebab keselamatan tetapi mengesahkan penghantaran peluru ke Israel memang sudah dirancang sebelum ini.

"Kiriman yang sudah dijadualkan itu adalah urusan rutin dan bukan untuk menyokong kempen ketenteraan di Gaza," kata Ryder.

Sebuah syarikat perkapalan Jerman yang memenangi tender tersebut mengesahkannya tetapi enggan memberi maklumat lanjut.

Ki-moon kecewa kedegilan Israel

NEW YORK 10 Jan. - Setiausaha Agung Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB), Ban Ki-moon menyatakan kekecewaannya dengan kedegilan Israel yang enggan melaksanakan gencatan senjata.

Kekecewaannya itu dinyatakan oleh Ki-moon selepas beliau menghubungi Perdana Menteri Israel, Ehud Olmert semalam.

"Beliau kecewa dengan keganasan berterusan di Palestin dan keengganan Yahudi mematuhi arahan Majlis Keselamatan," kata jurucakap beliau, Michelle Montas.

Olmert dilaporkan memberitahu Ki-moon bahawa Israel akan meneruskan serangan ke atas Gaza.

"Israel tidak pernah bersetuju dengan mana-mana campur tangan luar dan memutuskan untuk terus mempertahankan hak keselamatan penduduknya," kata Olmert kepada Ki-moon.

Kelmarin, majoriti anggota Majlis Keselamatan mengundi agar gencatan senjata dilaksanakan segera bagi menghentikan kekejaman Zionis.

Setakat ini jumlah kematian penduduk Gaza melebihi 800 orang dalam serangan yang memasuki hari ke-14 semalam.

Sains dan Matematik dalam bahasa Ingeris

Here's the point of view of the man behind this idea..Tun Mahathir..i think he made himself clear in this statement why he insisted on the program..and i think myself he has made a good point..i'd never strongly agree and strongly opposing the matter..his visions for malays to be a dominant entity in knowledge is clearly shown here as one of his agenda for wawasan 2020..

32. Penggunaan bahasa Inggeris untuk Sains dan Matematik adalah kerana ilmu ini mengguna perkataan-perkataan yang berlainan daripada bahasa Inggeris biasa. Juga ilmu-ilmu baru dalam bidang sains terutamanya diterokai dan diperkenalkan melalui kertas-kertas akademik hampir tiap hari. Dan hampir semuanya didapati di dalam bahasa Inggeris.

33. Kita boleh terjemahkan kertas-kertas ini. Untuk ini kita perlu penterjemah yang fasih dalam bahasa Inggeris dan bahasa kita dan juga berkelulusan dalam bidang sains berkenaan. Kita tidak ada ramai orang seperti ini sekarang pun. Jika ada pun mereka tidak berminat untuk kerja ini sepanjang hayat. Apabila semua belajar sains dan matematik dalam bahasa Melayu, di manakah akan kita cari orang yang fasih dalam bahasa Inggeris untuk membuat penterjemahan.

34. Dalam satu pertemuan saya telah beri contoh dalam bidang telekomunikasi, khususnya telefon sel. Kecanggihannya bertambah sepanjang masa. Ini semua adalah hasil pemahaman dalam ilmu dan teknologi "micro circuit", dalam cip, dan bagaimana menulis "software" untuknya.

35. Kita tidak perlu bahasa Inggeris untuk mengguna segala kemudahan dalam cell-phone. Tetapi untuk mencipta dan meningkatkan keupayaan cell-phone kita perlu ilmu yang berkenaan yang mana ilmu ini terdapat dalam bahasa Inggeris. Mungkin sudah ada buku-buku dalam bahasa Melayu berkenaan sains ini tetapi saya belum jumpa buku yang boleh menolong kita mencipta alatan yang mengguna sains ini. Sehingga kita ada buku ini kita perlu buku dalam bahasa Inggeris, syarahan dalam bahasa Inggeris, tunjuk ajar dalam bahasa Inggeris. Jika tidak maka kita akan terus jadi bangsa pengguna.

36. Untuk menjadi bangsa maju kita perlu ilmu pengetahuan yang luas. Hanya boleh bertuturkata dalam bahasa sendiri tidak mencukupi untuk menjadikan kita bangsa yang maju setaraf dengan bangsa-bangsa maju yang lain.

37. Saya sayangkan bahasa saya. Sejak 1947 lagi saya telah perjuangkan bahasa saya. Bukanlah niat saya untuk mengenepikan bahasa dan bangsa saya apabila saya buat keputusan untuk mengguna bahasa Inggeris dalam sains dan matematik. Niat saya ialah sebaliknya. Niat saya ialah supaya bangsa saya tidak ketinggalan dalam penguasaan ilmu sains dan matematik yang begitu penting dalam menentukan maju/mundurnya sesuatu bangsa. Niat saya ialah supaya bangsa saya akan dapat berdiri sama tinggi dan duduk sama rendah dengan bangsa-bangsa yang termaju di dunia.

38. Insya'allah apabila kita di masa akan datang sudah dapat mendiri tamadun Melayu yang termaju sama seperti tamadun moden yang terkenal di dunia, apabila pendita-pendita dan saintis Melayu dapat meneroka dan menyumbang kepada keilmuan sains dunia, maka pada masa itu para saintis asing akan mempelajari bahasa Melayu untuk mendapat ilmu sains sepertimana orang Arab mempelajari bahasa Yunani, Hindi, Cina, untuk menguasai ilmu-ilmu yang diterokai oleh bangsa-bangsa ini; sepertimana orang Eropah mempelajari bahasa Arab untuk menguasai ilmu-ilmu sains dan matematik yang diterokai dan dikuasai oleh orang Arab pada abad ke-15 Masehi.

39. Inilah sejarah keilmuan tamadun manusia sejak zaman Hammurabi lagi.

hurmmm..i jus wanna add a few things bout this..i've been thinkin' a lot before, why couldn't we grow as a developed country using our own mother tongue as what japan, italy, korea, france, China and few other did.They are so proud of their own language that they don't even bother to speak English..it's true..if u go to this countries and u'll realize how little of them who can speak english..why oh why they developed so strong. We, Malaysian believe that English is the language of knowledge and in the pursuit of knowledge we eager to use english...if ever English is the language of knowledge why these countries developed parallel to America and Britain...after a long thought i realized i forgot where we came from...They, the developed countries, they are 'penjajah' and we, developing countries ' negara yang dijajah'..manakan enggang dan pipit buleh terbang sama..wahaha..but thats not the point..This developed countries they have strong foundations of knowledge long before we even achieved independence...they master they knowledge in science, maths long before the Americans do..so they already have the basic knowledge at their finger tips..and now is the time for them to do research, to develop the knowledge and to expand the theories and apply them by producing lots of gadjets, ipod, cellphones..just to name a few.. that's why they dont bother learning english..but us, we dont have the privilege yet..we are still in the stage of acquiring knowledge...acquiring knowledge is the very foundation of becoming developed countries...and in nowadays world, it seems impossible for us to acquire knowledge in Malay as Tun said there are limited books in Malay whereas we have tons and tons of books in English..besides, we don't have enough scholars in technology yet whom can provide us the knowledge we seek...it is not the fact that we've been colonized that makes our MENTALITY so dependent on English..it's the REALITY that makes us have to use English and we don't have much option..its the reality that we are talking and to be realistic is much important than to be 'bodoh sombong'...once we've pass the stage of acquiring knowledge and enter the phase of research and expansion of knowledge then we can make sure to use Malay as Lingua Franca as we used to..Selagi Mana kita tidak mampu memertabatkan Melayu Islam dengan ilmu Selagi itu kita tidak pernah akan Maju...*tetiba semangat*..wahaha..

Quick update on Palestine~~~

1. Israel lancar serangan darat

GENTING GAZA 4 Jan. - Kereta kebal dan pasukan tentera Israel bertempur dengan pejuang Hamas hari ini dalam serangan darat yang dilancarkan oleh rejim Yahudi itu sejak lewat malam tadi selepas lapan hari bedilan udara gagal menghentikan serangan roket ke atas negara Yahudi itu.

Menurut pegawai perubatan Palestin, tentera Israel telah menembak mati lapan penduduk Palestin termasuk tiga orang awam sekali gus menjadikan angka kematian meningkat kepada lebih 450 orang dalam pertempuran awal.

2. AS tolak usul damai di Palestin

NEW YORK 4 Jan. - Amerika Syarikat (AS) semalam menggagalkan usaha Libya untuk memujuk Majlis Keselamatan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) mendesak Israel menghentikan serangan ke atas Genting Gaza.

Beberapa orang diplomat Majlis Keselamatan memberitahu, keengganan AS menyokong resolusi yang diusulkan oleh Libya itu sekali gus menggagalkan usaha damai di Gaza kerana usul seperti itu memerlukan sokongan sebulat suara.

3. Serangan darat: AS sokong, Perancis suarakan bantah

PARIS 4 Jan. – Perancis menjadi negara Eropah pertama menyuarakan bantahan apabila tentera darat Israel mula memasuki Genting Gaza berbanding Amerika Syarikat (AS) yang mengeluarkan kenyataan sebaliknya.

Menteri Luar Perancis, Bernard Kouchner berkata, keputusan menghantar tentera darat selepas seminggu menggempur dengan serangan udara akan menjadikan konflik itu bertambah buruk dan berbahaya.

“Operasi itu merumitkan usaha antarabangsa untuk mewujudkan perjanjian damai di Genting Gaza,” tegasnya.

Sementara itu Presiden George W. Bush berkata, Israel bertindak demikian bagi mempertahankan diri.

hopefully, the EU will take a firm stand against the issue of the siege of GAZA...and we shall call for the Arab countries to be seriously involved in the matter..not only looking from side and wish for the best..

Hadiah RM1 juta untuk tokoh Maal Hijrah

KUALA TERENGGANU 5 Jan. — Tokoh Maal Hijrah untuk tahun ini berpeluang memperoleh hadiah bernilai RM1 juta, kata Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Katanya, ia bertujuan untuk mengangkat martabat agama Islam selain memberikan penghargaan kepada pemenang.

“Walaupun hadiah bukanlah satu keutamaan, tetapi ia untuk menghargai ulama yang kalau dibandingkan, sumbangannya lebih besar berbanding penyanyi. Kalau tahun lepas kita berikan RM100,000 kepada mereka yang dinobatkan sebagai tokoh Maal Hijrah, tahun ini sekiranya kita mempunyai penaja, Insya-Allah kita mungkin akan berikan mereka RM1 juta.

“Kalau penyanyi atau ahli sukan boleh mendapat tajaan daripada syarikat-syarikat, kenapa tidak boleh ia diberikan kepada ulama.

Syarikat-syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) umpamanya juga boleh jadi penaja,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas pelancaran Majlis Amal Islami Malaysia (MAIM) Terengganu di sini hari ini. - Bernama

Shedot's Super Sunday:Italy trip~~

u must have been wondered adakah shedot's super sunday sudah berwajah baru???hahaha...in the midst of war, i'm not in the mood to write, read or anything about the hiburan2..and i suppose it's not appropriate either...hurmmm..so to fill the gap, i'll write about our trip to italy keyhh..overall it was a very fun,relaxing, not-so-adventurous, worth spending money and incredibly enjoyable...ok..i'll devide the part into few pieces la ea..it was a 9 days trip so to cram everything in 1 entry won't do justice..so lets begin with Milan~~~yeeehaaaaaa...cikedik,cikedik...i made a short diary of our trip..so that it's gonna be easier for me to write..hehehe..

Milan:Day 1

Honestly, the first day of the trip was full of shit..i mean lots of bad things happened...we decided to leave the house at 8 so that we could catch the bus to shannon epot at 9am...but since it was sunday, the first bus run at 10am..so we called a cab..and it took really quite a while for the cab to arrive..yg lg tensinyer..so long story short..we missed the bus at 9am and we have to take 10am nyer bus and we arrived at the epot just about closing tyme for checkin..hahah..Then, before the flight usop n safwan decided to buy something to eat and they ended up buying sandwich..when we boarded the flight then they realized they bought a PORKY sandwich containing PORK..so burn la 4euro..mahal siot sandwich babi..hahah..shian usop..and the flight wasnt any better..it was the most uncomfortable flight for me..turbulence every now and then..and it was a big one..rasa cam dlm final destination pun ader..wahahha..it was scary weyhsss..

Hujan: Pagi yg gelap kini x terang2..haihh

Then, we arrived at Milan Bergamo epot..upon arrival, bad thing again, our application for the car rental was not confirmed..we have to spend quite sometime there to get a car sampaikan he person in charge of the car get really tired and bored with us...luckily we brought safwan along with us..our student credit cards limit is 600euro whereas the car rent adding up with deposit reached 900euro..seb bek safwan ader maybanknyer kedit card..fuh..kalo x haih...then we decided to buy a gps to make driving easier..then me bali n fendi went to Oriol Center(shopping centre)..after a hard conversation with an italian girl, we managed to grab a hold on quite a cheap one laa..then on the way back, bali was almost got hit by a bus..it was only like sejengkal jer jarak the speeding bus and him..bas tuh laju gilllozz..i managed to pull fendi back when i realized the bus, tp Fendi yg jahat ituh x tarik plak bali..ish2(sambil geleng pale)..hahaha..kalo dekat sket lg terkorban la bali di jln raya..haha..

then we all excited when we get to our LANCIA car..not Lancer yer...then we proceeded the journey to Milan City..then bila sampai kat tol..dgn sukeratinyer we took the touch n go nyer line..kitaorg x sedar pun kitaorg masuk lane salah..then we didn't know how to get the toll ticket and usop pushed the help button and then palang gate to opened just like that..so we proceeded laaa..then when we came to next toll station(payment point) kitaorg xdak resit la kan sbb kitaorg pass thru ngan selambakodok..then we were fined 50euro for not having the ticket..buta2 kener saman..haiahh..

Tgh menjamah megi koka:megi koka ini ditaja oleh Safwan

Then we arrived at our hostel..after checkin we had our Megi dinner...hahaha..i wasnt feeling well either...and to end the bad day..Fendi got scolded by the owner of the other hostel which at first we made a booking but we didn't cancel it..Fendi was so depressed..nak mkn megi pun x selera dah..shian pendi..hahah..owhh its not marah besa2 tp maki hamun berhamun kan...hahaha..padan muker..hikhihk..

Milan : Day 2

We woke up early in the morning and headed to post office to pay the fine..malang x berbau..not a single person in the post office can speak english..it was really hard trying to fill the form and to pay..haihh..we mostly used sign language and whatever signs thatt are universal,..haha..

Cobaan merampas beg Tod's safwan oleh fendi..cissss

Then we went to the biggest shopping piazza, Piazza Duomo and Safwan bought her mom a Tod's handbag..merasalah kami yg jakun ini masuk ker kedai mewah..haha..kalo x nak langkah kaki pun takut..setelah sebulat suara kami bersetuju memilah a brown classic handbag for Safwan mom..kitaorg pilih jer..Safwan yg bayar..the price???bajet2 sendiri la...hahaha..Then, we were all hungry and trying to find a place to eat and we came to a small restaurant with cheap pizzas i suppose..yg x laratnyer..we ordered 2 pizzas priced 6.50 each and a bottle of mineral water priced 6.00 euro..yesss x salah baca..air mineral dier 6euro..mahal cam haram..then we all pun menikmati la air mineral yg mahal itu sepuas2nyer..hahah..then when bali made the payment, we were surprised to be charged another 13euro for the service charge for dine in..haiyyyoooo..gila kedarah duit customers...in front of the big church tuh we were conned by egyptian claiming they were muslim and then asked money from us..motippp???

Usop dan Bali kesedihan x pat shopping kt San Siro Store

It was raining all day long..luckily i brought my umbrella yg almost torn apart dah..then we took the trem bernama desire pergi ker San Siro stadium..Bali and Usop were a bit disappointed looking at the price of the souverniers in the San Siro Stores..mahal bakss..and 1more thing, the toilet there was even worse compared to mesia nyer toilet..who says European's toilet bersih n canteksss..kiss my arse..hahaha..even my arse don't wanna kiss the mangkuk jamban i mean to sit on it la..tissue pun tadak..air lagi la..haha..

By 5 pm we headed to Venice....and the story continues in the second part.....
